In January 2025, Bridges earned certification as a trauma-informed organization. Fifteen Bridges staff members representing all program cities and job titles spent more than a year learning about the effects that trauma and adverse childhood experiences can have across the lifespan.

These 15 staff members now comprise the Bridges Culture of Care and Compassion Committee. The committee will continue to champion trauma-informed practices and embed them into program design and organizational values.

Trauma and adverse childhood experiences can shape how a young adult shows up to school, to work, and to relationships. Bridges' Youth Employment Specialists are now better equipped to recognize that history and respond to it, so a young person's past doesn't get in the way of the career they're building.
