Education first, and Pre-ETS along the way
Ahmed prioritized college over a job, but stayed deeply involved with Bridges Pre-ETS, even filming two videos for the program.
Ahmed Razaq's Youth Employment Specialist met him in fall 2024, when he was a senior at Edward R. Murrow High School. He was kind, mature, and curious, paying close attention in lessons and participating fully in the Pre-ETS curriculum.
After graduation, he was accepted to Brooklyn College. He chose to focus on his education and pause on working with an Employment Specialist.
But he didn't pause his relationship with Bridges. He participated in every Pre-ETS event over the summer, touring worksites, sitting in on workshops to prepare for his adult life. He filmed two videos for the program: one on his Pre-ETS experience, one on the transition from high school to college.
Ahmed takes his future seriously.
