Participant Story· Levy Concessions at Wrigley Field

"I am nice."

Ashley couldn't answer most of the recruiter's questions in full sentences. The last question was about excellent customer service. "I am nice," she said. He hired her on the spot.

Chicago, IL
I am nice.

Ashley Gasca's cognitive abilities may prevent her from ever being fully independent. After months of searching, her YES Shannon brought her to a Levy hiring event.

Levy let Shannon join the interview. Ashley couldn't answer the questions in full thoughts or sentences. The recruiter went through his list. One of the last questions was: what makes excellent customer service?

Ashley said: "I am nice."

The recruiter was charmed. He said they needed more people who were nice and would come to work with a good attitude. He hired her on the spot, as a Condiment Worker.

Today, Ashley works the fryer at Wrigley Field, cooking French fries and nuggets, then making rounds to stock and clean the condiment stations. For someone who might never have found a job without Bridges, she's now in one she can stay at as long as she wants.
