Honey was hired at Walgreens as a Pharmacy Tech apprentice in February 2023. After 500+ hours and a passing exam, she earned her Licensed Pharmacy Technician credential and started Northeastern's pre-med track.

It was one of the best things that's happened to me. It has taught me a whole lot!

Honey Lopez began working with her Youth Employment Specialist, Sandra, in November 2022. They moved through the intake interview, the Pre-Employment Guide, and a resume revision together. Honey came in with internship experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, business, and graphic design, plus volunteer work at her church and the Women's Alliance at her school.

Walgreens was the first place they applied. The role was Pharmacy Technician. She heard back within a week, interviewed, and was offered the job a couple of days later.

She started in February 2023. She trained inside the store first on customer service and cashiering, then moved to the pharmacy two weeks later. There was a lot of training, but nothing too difficult. Her managers and coworkers stepped in when she needed support. Customers started thanking her for listening to them.

Honey began as an apprentice. By December 2023, after 500+ hours and additional coursework, she took and passed the Pharmacy Technician licensing exam.

Honey graduated high school in July 2024 and officially received her Licensed Pharmacy Technician credential at Walgreens. She is working at both the Chelsea and Boston pharmacies. She is also studying Health Sciences on a pre-med track at Northeastern University, with medical school as the next goal.
