From Supply Apprentice to full-time at JPMorgan Chase
Rodney was offered a Supply Apprentice role with Chase's BeST Team early. Attendance was the early hurdle. He worked through it, and is now full-time, supporting the Supply and Printing Stations.
Rodney Stevens Mason Jr. came to Bridges through a family member who knew someone in the program. From the interview, his character, attitude, and presence stood out — drive and determination both. His Youth Employment Specialist, Ornelise St. Louis, describes him as a "Rising Star."
He was offered an early opportunity as a Supply Apprentice with Chase's BeST Team. Attendance and punctuality were challenges at first. With steady support and guidance, Rodney made strong improvements.
Before long, he was promoted to a permanent part-time role as an Operational Specialist, supporting the Supply and Printing Stations. Soon after, he was offered full-time hours.
"Rodney wasn't just looking for any job," Ornelise says. "He wanted a workplace that believed in him the way he believed in himself."
His supervisor at JPMorgan Chase, Charlotte, sees what Ornelise sees: someone who shows up with consistency and commitment. Even on difficult days, Rodney shows up with purpose, humility, and a real eagerness to grow.
"Watching Rodney develop has been incredibly rewarding," Ornelise says. "I don't think he even realizes how much light and motivation he brings to the people around him."
